Meditation is hanging out with your soul. – Unknown

The mind is like water. When it’s turbulent, it’s difficult to see. When it’s calm, everything becomes clear. -Prasad Mahes

Welcome, Goddess! Let’s talk about meditation! More importantly, I want to tell you about how adding five minutes of meditation to my daily routine drastically transformed my life. Meditation is a set of techniques used to develop mindfulness, promote calmness, and increase relaxation. As the numbers show, its popularity is skyrocketing, with more and more people meditating on a regular basis. In today’s stress-packed world, it’s no wonder people are looking for new ways to relieve stress and anxiety. That’s all great news but I want to tell you how meditation can really be the catalyst to leading you to your true passion, your soul purpose and your best goddess life.

I can’t wait to tell you about my six goddess secrets for powerful mediations that anyone can do! The first secret is to set your intention. For example, before I start my meditation each morning, I state to myself, “I am open to receive guidance, strength and courage to step into my life’s highest purpose”. This statement becomes my GPS for the meditation and for the entire day. I feel empowered and focused. I take three deep breaths in and with each inhale I call all my power back to me. On the exhale, I release anything holding me back or that is making me feel powerless. Just think about how much energy we “give” away each day. We give our energy to our kids, our spouse, our boss, our co-workers, our parents, traffic, emails, texts, the list goes on and on. For three breaths, take it ALL back and see how good it feels.

The second goddess secret is to allow your mind to be set free. Just let all your thoughts run wild. You will probably think about all the things on your to do list, all the deadlines, responsibilities you are dreading, and how you don’t have 5 minutes to do this meditation. It’s all ok. Just go with it. The secret here is to observe all of your thoughts. I like to describe this exercise as stepping out of your body and watching yourself. Just listen and observe all the pressure, negativity and stress your mind attacks you with each moment. Don’t judge it- just observe and be aware of that voice. This is known as the monkey mind. The monkey mind loves to run rampant and take control of your happiness, your joy and your freedom.

The third secret is to flip the script of the monkey mind. Now that you have stepped back and are aware of the monkey mind you can tame it. This is going to be harder at first, but just like any muscle you work out it will get stronger. It just takes intention, awareness, consistency and the desire to feel good. How do you flip the script? Here is an example. If you notice your monkey mind telling you how stressed you should be about that deadline you are not going to make, observe this thought and then start imagining the best possible scenario that could happen. I call this the “What if…” game. What if… the deadline was extended for another day. What if… I turn it in on time and it is well supported and recognized? Get the idea? Suddenly, you have expanded your mind to new possibility. You have transformed your point of attraction from one of fear and lack to infinite possibility and abundance. On a deeper level, you have taken away the power of this self-inflicted limiting belief. You now feel good, inspired, motivated and empowered instead of anxious, stress and defeated. The judgements and the self-attack will suddenly all go away when you claim your power back.

The fourth goddess secret is now that you have observed the monkey mind and flipped the script- you are now feeling good. The fourth secret is to stay there. Stay feeling good. Stay in that vibration of those good feeling thoughts for two minutes. This is a secret number for manifesting. The Law of Attraction simply stated is like attracts like. The more you feel good, the more good things will come to you. This works. Try it! Afterall, you are worthy of feeling good! You are allowed to feel good! Why wouldn’t you want to do this? You are a powerful goddess. When you commit to this practice, you are powerfully and authentically stepping into your best life.

The last secret of the most powerful mediation experience is to journal after your meditation. There is power in writing down your visions and any thought or idea that made you feel good.  There is great power in declaring your desires to the Universe. It will help you manifest this desire more quickly and keep you motivated and inspired to focus on it more often.

I hope these five goddess secrets will help you begin or stay motivated to do your meditation practices every day. Meditation is unique to each of us and can be practiced in the form of stillness, walking, writing or a combination of all three. Common health benefits of mediation include general wellness, improved energy, aids in memory and focus, anxiety, stress and depression relief. However, my favorite thing about meditation is the power it gives to my heart’s desires and biggest goals and dreams. Once you master the monkey mind, the negative thoughts get less and less each day and the positive thoughts grow and expand. Surrender to the greatness that lives within you. Your dreams are your destiny. After a bit of time, you notice you have taken your power back, you are aligned to your highest potential and manifesting your best life.

May the long time sun shine upon you. All love surround you. And the pure light within you, guide your way on. -Adi Mantra
